Default Ok folks, Wish me luck?

Extraction of the 'resorbing' molar is due later this week. I have stocked up on all the soft, tasty, fun[sort of] gloppy foods that can both nourish and provide a person with non-gum irritating and filling foods for the 'duration' afterwards. I truly hope that I will be able to mash, mush semi-nosh food on Turkey day? Tho I am told that I will be, I am cynical due to other medical experiences. I will say that the doctor who will be doing the work appears to be professional, and staff as well have been responsive to my questions so far.
Thanks to you Bryanna, I am prepared, I have asked the questions I think I've had to ask as well as those based on past experiences, well, I am anticipating a degree of discomfort? Compared to other medical issues tho, I am not too overly concerned ....just being cautious.. One thing is the last few times I had had crowns I also received a prescription for 'Periogard'...Would this be a norm in this or similar cases these days?
I have been told it will be a 'local anathestic', in some ways this is comforting and others disconcerting. The last time I'd had teeth actually pulled was about the early '70's when I'd four impacted wisdom teeth extracted. For that I was put 'under'. Aside from IcePaks which I abhor due to my neuropathy sensitivities, is there any other 'comfort' mode I can use? Aside from 'compresses' that is?
Onward...I plan to go overboard on a nut quota tomorrow, in anticipation for the non-nut healing period. Gotta get those ultra chomps in? Thanks all - j
