The methylcobalamin form has even been used in huge quantities with people who could not eliminate it with urine due to kidney disease. No problem.
Even if a person does not have the severe malabsorption that would allow only 10 mcg absorption from 1000 mcg taken, I would have absolutely no qualms about taking thousands of mcg methylcobalamin.
