TO Bebop Yes being over 50 does help.
You may want to consider writing your congressman and senator once a week and ask what's up. There are currently 750.000 disabled people waiting to have there cases reviewed by and ALJ. and they are saying that it's going to take 5 years to work through the back log created since 2001.
These are the unfortunate ones. In my opinion these numbers are only going to increase with more disability claims being filed each day and the baby boomer coming on line for retirement.
It's no fun when they turn your phone off, you're unable to pay your bills, you need medical attention and medication and the list goes on.
It took me over 4 years to get my claim approved that's insane.
So I'm letting everyone I come in contact with to be pro active and let there congressman and senators know that there are many many people who are suffering needlessly because of the way theses claims are processed.
The system is broken and needs to be reformed and in my opinion that will only happen when those of us who are disabled let people know what's really going on.
So I'm letting everyone I know and everyone I come in contact with how I was treated by SSA in Hopes that they will take a few minutes once a week and write their congressman and senator a little reminder note on who they work for and who put them in office in the first place.
I'm happy your claim was processed so quickly
