Heart Rescued Doggies

Five yrs. ago ( About 3 months before my trigeminal neuralgia reared its ugly head,) my daughter and I made a return trip to the Humane Society. Before I say anymore, you have to know my daughter. She is one of the most compassionate people I've ever known. Just about six months before this she had adopted a Dalmation from there and named him Zak. He was a very special dog. You see, Zak was deaf. My daughter doted on him and made his life so he knew he was loved very much. In fact someone had contacted the newspaper about her teaching him hand signals. Now who would have contacted the newspaper?????(me) Not long after, Zak became sick. My daughter worked at a vets office so had first hand help for him. Well, Zak had cancer which was not previously diagnosed. He passed away in a matter of weeks. She was devastated, of course. I had a talk with her about the last little bit of Zaks life. I told her that we don't know what kind of life Zak had before to end up in a cold cell at the Humane society. I talked to her about the the love, care and concern that she had given him during the last of his life. I reminded her how she would put a hat on him, and he looked so goofy. He was happy because he knew how much he was loved. I got her to smile and pretty soon we were laughing about the silly little things Zak would do.The tears were mixed with the laughs. We thank God that we found him
and when he went away he was covered with kissys and hugs.
On a return trip to the Humane society, we happened to go to the puppy area. We saw a little puppy in the corner cage. He was a golden retriever, very, very cute. We were told that he was blind. As I held him, the employee
showed us another kennel with his brother, also blind. They were scheduled to be euthanised the next day, knowing that noone would want two blind puppys. No one but me. It was my turn I guess, cause when I held them, I knew they were going home with me.Thats how we got our Golden Retrievers
Phoenix and Luke They are 3 yrs. old now. They are beautiful, and wer'e so happy to find these two little bundles dropped from Angels to us just like little presents.
Time to go.
Truely, Doodle bug7
