Hi there

Last year I had a tooth removed I had told the dentist about RSD and the risks.. they hadn't heard of it (no suprise there) but he and the staff all read up on it by my next apointment, they called me and requested that I get my doc to perscibe atavan for me to take 1 hour before the apointment. The dentist froze my mouth realy well before the extraction and I mean well, then right after the procedure was done he froze my mouth again. It worked well for me I had no lasting problems from it.

Mabie if you have a knowlegable (bout RSD) doctor you can as him/her what they sugest.. It may be that they would want to put you out for it too and do it in surgery.. in which case there are other precautions to take before and after the procedures that can help keep the sympathetic system from becoming active in that area. For surgical dentistry RSD Hope has an an article here:

Shorter dental visits are suposto be benificial as well as the before and after shots some have had a reaction to the needles and aparently there is a topical something they can rub on your gums to numb them that helps that ootential problem.. I may be I seeem to remember that,, hmm no epineferin.. hmm off to research this more..
