Teflon... I know stories about that... A friend of mine, who also raised large parrots, put baby bottles on the stove in a teflon pot and fell asleep waiting for them to boil. When she awoke, the house was filled with fumes, the pot had boiled dry, and 3 of her big Blue and Gold Macaws were dead on the floor... Birds' respiratory sacs are extremely sensitive to various insults: teflon, fumes from permanents, insecticides, etc. Wonder what happens to those people who have asthma, emphysema or COPD when they breathe these fumes...

The punctal plugs? Another friend here, who has also suffered from what is believed to be implant related illness, has dry eyes. The Opthamologist put in the silicone punctal plugs. She had finally shown some improvement in her autoimmune illness, but this really rocked the boat. They were promptly removed when she found out what they were made from, not soon enough though. The result was a severe flareup of the PN and other autoimmune issues, which continued for months...

I don't use Teflon at all any more. I use heavy Le Creuset. Pam? I don't know about that. When you start seeing a bunch of stuff on an ingredients list that sounds more like it belongs in a chemistry lab, maybe it would be a good idea to skip it...
