Hi Ali.. there are precautions a dentist should make before doing dental work to protect your face from spread to that area after fillings or extractions or even just cleanings. It's just a matter of extra freezing before and after a procedure and the type of freezing they usualy use has epinepherin and that is not good for us so they use sometning else to freeze the area realy well before and after.. I would request freezing before teeeth cleaning too.. anything that will hurt or excite the nerves in that area has to be avoided.

That said I have had visits and dental work done without a lasting problem, I will look for some information you can bring into your dentist.
