I'm glad to hear that your son is doing fine now. I also took depakote for many yrs. and it worked great controlling my absence and complex partial sz. I had to give it up after my body became immune to the drug and I wanted to let you know that you should watch for any bruises on your son because depakote can eat up the blood platlets and cause a person to bleed internally. My blood platlet level dropped one time very low and I had to be admitted into the hospital for my neuro. to monitor me for a few days.
