Hi K,
Depakote can cause a person to get a sunburn very fast. I had a 70 proof sunblock on and I ended up with sun poisoning, be very careful that your son covers up his skin in the sunny weather.
Depakote also lowered my blood pressure to the point where it was 80 over 60 and my neuro thought I was in shock but I felt fine.
Don't let you son take his med with any caffine or it will make him feel like he's had a little to much to drink. Also keep your son away from nutra sweet (aspartame) and splenda because these artifical sugars cause more electrical activity to the brain and can trigger sz. I found that out the hard way when I used to drink diet soda and had many more sz. My neuro told me to stay away from nutra sweet from that point on. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!

Sue
