Welcome Maggie

Idiopathic seizures is honestly the most common form of seizures.

So you will feel right at home talking to the folks in the epilepsy forum
here. Or in any of the other forums that you can happen onto.

I'm Donna and I had seizures as a child, which I'm pretty sure now really
were the abnormalities that are now being treated by my neurologist.

I have balance, vertigo and other problems. And its really been good to
see that I am going to be able to have a more normal life. I'll always have
symptoms of seizures. But I now know that they aren't seizures, but part
of what I have in me.

But my son Derrick has a very abnormal EEG and has seizures. His will
probably always be with him. He is 16 and a very neat young man. I've
learned lots from him. My middle son is Devin, he has had about 4 more
5 seizures, plus migraines which run very seriously in my family. And he
was driving when he had 2 of his seizures that luckily he or no one else
got hurt. It was only because he knew how serious it could be that he
finally told me about the seizures. He just ended up in ditches and woke
up there. He is now controlled and so are his migraines most of the time.

My oldest is Danny and he had rage seizures. ANd was controlled by
depakote. Luckily before he turned into a young adult. Miracle for us.

So welcome to the world, and if you need any help with something.
Let me know.

Donna
