I have heard of people who do a "make it or bake it" gift exchange when it gets to be sooooo many in the family. We don't exchange with any of our siblings (since they're all out of state it gets expensive mailing boxes). I just sigh when it was mid-October and I walk into our local Wal-Mart and see a big box of pumpkins beside the door...right beside the inflatable SANTA!!! What happened to Thanksgiving??? I know we give thanks each and every day of the yr, but it's becoming a lost holiday. I jokingly mentioned it to the greeter lady and her comment sent me into a roar..."well, Santa's bringing everyone pumpkin pies this year so that's why they displayed them side by side" !!!! LOL
