I am a bit slow on the trigger today....ugh. I am not going to complain, as every one knows what days like this feel like.
Mel, I would have said those were the foreign words spoken by the 'alien'.....
I remember when the whole neighborhood would be empty, back in the early 60's I believe, when the movie was on TV. We would all be glued to our TV sets.
I think we got our first color set around 1966 maybe 1967.
I remember Friday night Sci-fi movies...(I didn't have much of a social life in middle school unlike the mini-teenagers of today....they are 12 year olds going on 17..and the 17 year olds are not all that bright either.)
I had to ask to use the one wall mounted phone in the house, and I had to use the word, 'please'. I was not allowed to spend much time yakking on it, nor giving a play by play of exactly what I was doing when....unlike people now. I heard some lady in the big box store giving some one her play by play on her cell phone. I couldn't help but think....get a life----no one really cares if you are 'checking out now--using my credit card now----pushing my cart to the door blah blah blah!!!!
I wonder when they will just start imbedding chips into folks and they just need to think of the person they want to call and it is all done automatically....that said, some of this technology will help many people who do not have full functions such as speech....on the other hand maybe we will just evolve to have a 'cell' phone in our head.
I am never at a loss for words, but really, I can not fathom what these people talk about---constantly.
