Hi Leslie,

This is the first time I have been on this site still don't know how to use it. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 11 yrs ago. I was 40. I understand how you are feeling, I went to alot of doctors over the yrs and none could find what was wrong with me- it causes fear and depression not knowing what it wrong. I was told for yrs it was all in my head.

I have non diabetic related neuropathy that happened after I had heart surgery in 03. One of the doctors I saw also said the thought I had MS, he said I had all the symptoms but that he wasn't sure that is what it was. I saw a specialist for Chronic Fatigue once too and he was of little help. My mother is 88 and was in a car accident at 21, she landed on her head and has problems since- then doctors kept saying she had fibrocytis and other things that are now known to be the fibromyalgia. It causes pain and concern but thankfully it is not crippling, won't kill us so on that we are alot luckier than some other people. A good site to visit is the NFA they have alot of info that is helpful too.

It is really good to have people that know and love you for support. Feel free to contact me anytime. There is hope for us.

This is also considered one of the invisiable diseases meaning that when people look at us they can't see anything wrong. I have had some trouble from people parking in the handicap parking or using the eletronic carts when shopping don't let it bother you- if you need them use them and hold your head high!
