There are always a lot of people on the crohns-colitis forums (I sometimes look at the crohns-colitis newsgroup, you can access it via google groups for instance) that report getting better on the SCD diet. No refined carbs there.
Also, I found a note some months ago on the internet that xome scientists have found a gene in crohns patients that cause them to not be able to get rid of certain cell wall deficient bacteriae like they should. (there is alot on the bacteriae theory on the internet too).
