In those situations there are somethings we all can try -

If you re- read the post you are replying to {usually the original post} and then double check the one you are sending before you submit it - you might catch something that could be misunderstood or that you misunderstood.

Often just a change in the wording, or asking a friendly question- if you're not sure of the facts or the meaning.

And a friendly PM can really help to clarify if something really comes across as troublesome and you aren't sure how it was meant..
Just a simple -
How did you mean your post on "whatever thread it was"?
I wasn't clear on it.

I've used these techniques over the years and I think they worked for me
