How to help? Awareness Time Money

Healthy Choice
Raising awareness with the general public is best done by word of mouth. I have created a public post called Healthy Choice which should help you and bring up the topic of ALS and it could save your life. I am combining a boy scout lesson and an art of war philosophy to raise awareness. Always leave a campsite better then you found it. This boy scout lesson taught me at a young age that you are responsible for the places you go and you can make a better site for the next camper. This lesson can be applied to many of life's situations. Turn your disadvantage into an advantage. ALS is my disadvantage and your Healthy Choice will turn it to an advantage. Have you ever made a promise to yourself regarding your health and then broke that promise? Could that promise been easier to keep if you made your promise on behalf of someone who no longer has the choice to be healthy? Make a Healthy Choice on behalf of a PALS because they no longer have that choice. Post your Healthy Choice on this site. Then every time you keep your promise tell someone about it and why. This will help you stay healthy and will raise ALS awareness. If my disadvantage is the reason for someone to stop smoking or exercises more or lose weight or control drinking or stop taking illegal drugs, then I believe that I have stayed true to the boy scout lesson I learned long ago, with a twist.

Fundraising will benefit PALS today and will help to find a cure. I have raised money for ALSA and ALS TDF. One of the lessons learned is that if you have a fundraiser, like a golf tournament, there are support staff available to help you plan and run events. The question is which group to get involved with. If you are raising funds for an individual then working through the ALSA is best because the ALSA has the ability to buy products and services for individuals. If you are raising funds for research you have many choices. My preference is to fundraise for research, because I would rather see my efforts go to finding a cure. I believe in the purpose of ALS TDF and I believe that they will speed us to discovering a cure. If you or your company would like to make a donation for research please visit my ALS TDF page. If you prefer to have your donation to go to me for my use, please forward your donation in my behalf to The Dover Church, Dover, Springdale Ave. MA 02030
