Not sure if he's the one Dr. Alberts rode with, but Dr. Dave Heydrick (PAN's "Dr. Dave") did the Iowa bike ride in 2006 with the same results (he's had DBS).

I have just begun to train to ride the Seattle-to-Portland bike ride this coming July for Team Parkinson's. It's 200 miles over 2 days. I have a couple thousand dollars riding on the bet that I won't make it (Carey? Ride a bike? To Portland? Now that's funny!). Believe me, that is better inspiration and motivation than those who say of course I can do it!

I won't be riding tandem, so I won't be pushed beyond my own pace, but I think it will be good for me nonetheless. And fun!
