In the above article it says "Kirsten's ambition is to join the Paralympics sailing team but so far her condition is not recognised as a disability for that purpose". and "It is incredibly frustrating. An able-bodied person born without thumbs would qualify as disabled but I am in a wheelchair and I don't" she said.

I would like to hear your opinions on why the special olympics do not recognise RSD. And also your opinions on including RSD into the recognised disabilitys for the various special olympics.

Aparently they have said that RSD can't be measured, I tend to think if you are in a wheelchair because of a disability you are disabled and should be included in any recreational activitys or events for the disabled, I can however see that it is unmeasurable because we are all disabled to diffrent degrees, but so are people with CP or who have downsyndrome.

Wheelchair users with RSD should be included in the paralympics is what I think. But they must have reason.. or perhaps it's the same ol thing.. lack of knowlege about this disorder and it's dystonic features by the paralympic comittie perhaps..
