Bcaa
meaning Branched Chain Amino Acids?
This is whey protein, and has the aminos ready for absorption.
This includes tryptophan in good amounts, and tryptophan is used to make
serotonin, which helps to reduce pain perception. Tyrosine is in there too,
as well as phenylalanine...all 3 make various neurotransmitters.
People who do not digest protein well (no stomach acid) would not have enough
aminos getting into the body for repair.
If you want to heal anything, taking aminos is good. After surgery for example.
But I think for nerves, equally important are essential fatty acids. They are used to repair the nerve membranes and sheaths. They use B12, folic acid and
B6 to accomplish that.
