I've been in bed for the last week. I went to my big shindig Saturday night, but other than that, I have been NO WHERE! And I didn't even stay that long!

Nope,you are not whining; I just feel really bad for you. Do you recall that i'd said I had a similar problem for
3 yrs! I had everything...allergy tests, sinus surgury, a couple scopes.
No pneumonia in my case (they can tell with an x-ray).
To be honest I do not know what caused my problems.
I also had a horrid cough....I think I even broke a rib coughing not to mention what the coughing fits did to my bladder!
I would cough so hard I'd lose my breath

Anyway, I am on a regimen of Advair, Astelin, Singular. I just hate taking all that, but it seems to keep me healthy.
Before you do anything else try to get your family doc to take an x-ray. It's simple and usually will give you an answer as to whether you have pneumonia.
