Default If anybody can do it..

the Swedes can. They were first to use fetal nigral cells and had limited success in humans, and just when they showed the world that they were on the right track, boom, "morality" came into the issue. And yes the "moralists" were right, the harvesting of 6 or so human fetuses per implant was a horrendous and unthinkable "cure" for us PWP, but that whole incident then slowed up stem cell research which was to utilize excess embryos for "proof of principle" experiments, that always maintained that the use of fetal stem cells was just an "intermediary" approach to "bioengineerd nigral cells". What happened was the whole area of research became a hot potato and re-routed many a biologist's career away from PD stem cell research. Who knows, maybe the winds will change and we'll get something before we're toast.
