New Kid on the Block
new to the forum...recently r/c the tenative diagnosis from my specialist of RSD...have all the symptoms from cold/warm hands, numbness, aching, burning pain (especially in my hand/palm/fingers from what originated as a shoulder injury), low-grade fevers, tingling, stiffness, insomnia even when taking sleeping pills, persistent, UNRELENTING pain that's absolutely debilitating, and, recently, have been awakened, early in the morning, with my lower back so tight and stiff, in tears, needing to either get up and walk around, or have it massaged in order for the pain to even minimize itself. it has been 6 months, almost to the day, since my original injury, and things seem to be getting worse, and certainly, the pain has become much more
"unpredictable", and "out of the blue", with more "bad days" than good ones.
..curious for anyone's opinions and or insight into the following..does this seem to correlate with RSD from everyone's experiences? which medications, again, in your own experiences, have been the most useful in terms of pain management (i am slated to see a pain management specialist/RSD specialist early next week)? currently, I am taking neurontin (aka gabapentin) 500mg, three times a day, and hydrocodone prn (if I took it everytime my pain was a 5 or 6, I would be doing nothing but popping pills all day long).
any insight or feedback would be much appreciated..
