Hi, Karousel.
As someone who has sleep apnea all I can say is it's so important for him to use a CPAP, consistantly. If he wants to loose weight, great! But, he needs to do that while he becomes proactive with the CPAP.
Does your husband realize he could lose weight easier if he used the CPAP? He would feel less tired, get a more restorative sleep and end up with more energy. Sleep apnea can actually cause a person to gain weight - the less REM sleep he gets the more "sluggish" he will feel.....day after day.
I will be perfectly honest - I hate using the CPAP but, I have more energy and in a months time I lost 8 pounds - all because I now have the ability to "move."
My goal is to get off the CPAP....in time and when I truly don't need it by the proof of a sleep study.
I really hope you can convince your DH he needs to use the CPAP - for his health and life.
Send him here and I'll talk to him
