Liz, please try not to be scared. But I completely understand your fear. When it hits close to home as in your circumstance, your mechanism inside your heart just can't help being fearful.

I will have to say that I'm not watching the news on this event. So my opinion will only come from my experience. I hope this is good enough to cast my opinion as a member of my family was a victim of a violent crime.
Nothing will bring her back. We must live with this for the rest of our lives. We are the victims. Our family and our friends were the victims. And the person got away.

I can tell you 1st hand that, I can't watch the news reports at times, nor the very popular crime TV shows since our horrible incident 18 years ago - October.

What has happened to these little girls and their families, just saddens me to the core of my being. Their families, their friends, and the community.

It's a very sad world out there. Let's take a moment to cherish our family. Hug our children.

When my kids walk out the door every day...I never ever let them leave without telling them I love them..and to be safe. For them to be careful, drive careful and to remember it "can" be a mean world out there. It may seem harsh. But if I forget to say my little ditty, they yell back to me...hey "Momma, it "can" be a mean world out there, be careful ok, I love you!"

So...everyone be careful out there. k? Try to have a peaceful night.
