RSD mom
If you read my last line it said if it feels good and it is not toxic to basically do it.
This means everything positive that nourishes your body mind and soul in ways that make you feel good.
Sometimes with all we have going on we forget the most simple pleasures in life - listening to music can be a great pain reliever if it gives you pleasure - a bath ; the ( right ) tough of a loved one - a hug or talk from a friend or mother .
If heat is good for your symptoms use it more often - epsom salts baths go for it - don't forget your friends especially as we all have a tendency to do that sometimes when we are not feeling so good .
Get back to basics and remember what nourished your soul and you before this happened- do a jiggy once in a while if you are still able - laugh from your gut- so healthy !!!!
On a more day to day level I have been going to the gym since I recovered from my bilateral ribresections which gave me RSD ; I have been in the gym with dystonia in both feet and bone crushing pain that kept me up at nights . Nothing has ever stopped me as I refuse to envision a life without walking .I have to keep using it or I will lose it so to speak.So,I have always soldiered on .
I do listen to my body and adjust the level of intensity and workouts according to the condition my condition is in .
I use the eliptical trainer to keep the energy flowing in my body even when my calves were cold( they aren't any more and my dystonia is almost gone!!!- knock wood a thousand times !!!!! YAY
I have been told by many doctors that I was doing the best thing for me.Ok for that I believe them .
My RSD hands ( my initial sight ) are still very strong some 8 years later from lifting weights(very light) this whole time. As I got this through bilateral ribresections(and more) I have always felt my arms and hands were my weakest link despite my efforts and positive attitude.
One of the things the homeopathic doc said to me was "Your hands are strong.Get that thought out of your mind and start using them as often as possible .
I went home and cooked.I hadn't done that in years thinking my arms were too feeble,Yes even me .
That paradigm shift in my brain was so necessary !!!! Sometimes we get stuck without even realizing it.

Please DO NOT STOP LIVING !!!!!
That is the worst thing that we can do for ourselves. Being busy is a gift - a distraction and so healthy any way you can manage it within your current limitations .
School is fantastic - go by all means - do not let a little thing like a disease stop your life

I was already on a head start with this path practicing meditation and a balanced diet (not as balanced as the list ). I started with talking to my sick body parts in only the most loving and caring of ways .I love my feet -when they are feeling bad I send them messages of terrific love caring ,energy and warmth....I won't go in to what I say - you can make your own love song to your sick body parts-see what a positive effect it will have
(if they are cold/hot . Be good and nice to yourself .It goes a long way!!!

At a very decent low I read a book called Wherever You Go There You Are
by Jon Kabat Zinn
buy it for the title. Buy any of his books "Full Catastrophe Living "is another good one
It teaches you to try to live in the moment which is far less overwhelming than worrying about what may be. I then created a lifestyle that worked for me.I have always been healthy.
I have a favorite saying - I won't bore you with too many
"Worrying won't change the outcome ." It only hurts us with this condition.
Whatever is going to happen will happen whether you worry or not.
So do whatever you can to effect positive change and leave the worrying out of the equation.Not worth the stress.Easier said than done and always a work in progress.

I too need to gain weight RSD mom - There is a sight called "Heartfelt Medicine" that I found through much research -don't move forward without that research - he is not my homeopath but ya never know - he has a shake mixture for sale on the internet full of many essential fatty acids(high in good calories) - nutrient rich foods - anti inflammitory properties etc. Sounds expensive but for that $300 you are getting 5 lbs worth of product and you only need a teaspoon of most of the ingredients per shake.This will last a very long time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I plan to hit the place up for a good recipe so I will share here if you are interested.Let em know

Oh Vicc for once I have to agree with you although your methods are dubious -Hooshmand is a shady dude indeed.
Some of his puzzles can be applied but a lot are outdated garbage Please use them with absolute discernment .His motives on everything cannot be trusted.
