Primary Progressive MS since 1995

Fell while I could still walk and damaged my L-5 - S1 vertibrea. (signifigant impingement of the nerve root) put me in a chair full time, havent' walked in 4 years.

Also my liver enzymes are REALLY high (normal is >50 mine are in the 300's.

New doc says Friday of next week I am having a liver Ultra sound to see what is going on, could be as simple as a blocked duct or as serious as liver cancer. After that I get to shoot the tube and have MRI of my lower spine, and brain to see how the MS has progressed and how my low back is.

he thinks he wants to do surgery on my lower back, fuse the spine from L-3 - the coccis(sp) and take the pressure off the nerve. he said if he does this, 60% chance I can walk again. ---WOW if that happens, I am selling my van and buying a Harley

So, we will know more after the 8th of Feb. meantime, he gave me a new script for Heavy duty meds and told me to relax.

Am I nervous about surgery? YES, duh, but I gotta get out of this pain.
Good prospect Earl. I hope you get some positive news.

Do ask, though, if you haven't already, if medications you are on might have punched up those liver enzymes. Pain medication, even tylenol or ibuprofen can do that.

Keep us all in the loop about how things go.
