What you're experiencing, Patrick, definitely sounds like erroneous nerve sensations of some kind (parasthesas)--but these can be caused by innumerable factors, from brain/spinal cord problems to those of the peripheral nervous ssytem.
Can you tell us more about how all this evolved? Were some body parts involved first? Was the onset acute or more gradual?
Also, what kind of testing have you had? A lot of us use the Liza Jane spreadsheets (
www.lizajane.org) to track our test results over time and to suggest others to the doctors. . .
