Lightbulb I have had dog ideas too...

But with experience I have found that the most important issue, is
understanding the pet(s) you have well. If you think a dog would upset this
new cat, then I would honor the cat's feelings and quality of life.

We have a old cat who would NEVER accept a dog... so while I research dogs, still I will not get one as long as she is alive.

Our other two cats might accept a puppy... a small dog ultimately. So I am still thinking about it.
