Craig

Sorry it took so much out of you I was a teacher for 10 years - taught grades 7-12 social studies and it was a tough gig when I was healthy - couldn't handle it now. I have often thought of going back - with my power wheelchair and trying it- but the reality is that those days are over for me.

I agree with others who have suggested tutoring. Some school districts have after-school homework help and those are paid positions. Another thought is to try out some of the online tutoring sites that hire teachers.

I realize it can be discouraging - those of us who loved teaching really miss it when we have to give it up. I always thought it was more than just a job - but truly a vocation.

My best wishes to you! I hope you will be able to find a niche for your talents!

Mo
