I don't think the weather is any different than it has been in the past.

I can remember blizzards and snow events when I lived in Michigan; tornadoes in Alabama and Michigan and horrible rain and lightening in Florida.

This was years ago and I think weather tends to be cyclical. Michigan has kind of gotten a pass over the last few years as regards heavy snow events.

I do think the drought is unusual (in the South) but not unheard of and since there is such an impressive population in those areas now days it is easy to see how it will have an impact.

Either way, the storms in the South (we got lucky and missed them) were truly terrible. I'd been watching Super Tuesday returns (we were visiting in Ga) and just before I went to bed I checked the weather and I was very surprised.
