I just read this thread and OMG!
If a doctor did that to me, my DH would've been madder than I could ever be. I can hear his comment on the way out the door now. "come on, we're finding a new neuro!". Actually, I probably would've heard his voice booming throughout the office as he had a talk with the doc.
A little background - my DH's mother is a surgical nurse. Docs trying stuff like this or talking down to patients drives my DH nuts since he learned how to read by reading Grays Anatomy and other medical stuff.
MS is an unpredictable disease that is unique to everyone. I know from experience; my mom and my grandmother (dad's mom) both had this disease - and it effected them VERY differently. It's even effecting me a little differently. I don't think there are any "absolutes" regarding this. Trends, maybe. But that's it.
