I keep my older laptop next to me - which has XP and I boot that baby up when I need something to go "right" or as I anticipate.

. Hard to let go of the familiar, particularly when it works well.
I miss the good ol' days, too. I ain't dumb when it comes to 'puters. But: I'm also not accustomed to spending money to replace programs I've already purchased (since VISTA won't run those programs for which I hold the licenses).
I brought it up because... others will encounter as I have, even though I thought this prob. could be avoided. I hope to spare others some agony.
