Lightbulb I often get

heartburn from pumpkin... I stopped eating it years ago for that reason.

What I have discovered by going gluten free, is that much of my GI problems are linked to FRUCTOSE. I have begun using gluten again, very moderately, and have no more problems. But honey or any high fructose thing will make me very ill now. (my reaction to the candy was most likely this).

I discovered this when I returned from vacation. I was putting honey in my tea, and developed a nasty GI problem requiring Imodium. When I went back to
regular sugar (I don't use very much, just a touch), everything quieted down.

Fructose is high in certain fruits, and explains why I could never eat pears or drink juices high in pear juice (this is a common additive I discovered). I've never been able to drink apple juice, my whole life, and now I know why!

I have found I can tolerate some fruit if eaten with something else. But eaten alone, can set me off now. I've looked around some, and there are two forms of fructose intolerance..one is GI mostly, the other is liver intolerance.
Since I don't do alot of sweets, I am not having too much trouble. But I have found that RIBS with certain sauces, some tomato sauces for spagetti, still set me off. ( I am still using Tinkyada for all my pasta).
