Hi Sandra,

I went straight to the last page, and the last lines just don't make sense to me.

If a patient starts using pot and begins cutting back on opiates, give him/her more post. Opiates kill, pot doesn't. If the pt gets high and still uses the same opiate dosage, it really isn't significantly helping the pain. No more scrips for pot.

I use it to increase my appetite and hopefully my capacity, but I do take fewer oxys on my vacation nights. I call them that because it also makes me less depressed or something. It definitely makes me high, and I've always liked that.

So I guess that if medical marijuana were available in Kansas, I should qualify. (Don't hold your breath, Toto). But they didn't mention the first thing I noticed about pot: You just can't stay high all the time.

I can only tolerate it every three to four days, and on those days I take less oxy. The rest of the time, I'm stuck with 10 to 12 a day. So, I guess that pot is a nice way to avoid pain once in a while, and getting high at the same time makes it even nicer...Vic
