I had about 3 nerve blocks-all offered me partial temp relief. My response from the blocks were not so good and thus the doc did not offer me any more block so i was stuck. I then tried one hour of lidocaine infusion. All pain was gone for only 15 minutes. I felt sooooo good to have no pain although the relief was short. I also tried 30x of oxygen therapy, it helped with pain reduction. Recently, i am trying STS therapy. I had some relief in my hands and fingers but not my feet or bones.
Allison, Glad to hear that your arm went into remission. You are so young, perhaps you will go into remission with your leg as well. My question is when your symptoms spread, does that mean your pain had already changed from the SMP to SIP? Does that mean you will not respond to nerve blocks any more?
I am sort of running out of treatment options.
Take care!
Numb

Hey there numb,

If you did have even partial relief from the blocks then they should be continued. If your Lignocaine Infusion helped then it needs to be repeated.
You are only 9 months in, you definitely have not run out of options but please try and insist you have more blocks and if your current doctor says no then please find another who will do them!
It sounds rather promising to me
I have has RSD/CRPS for over a decade and have many awful problems BUT I still get some relief from blocks so please do not place too much concern onto whether your pain is SMP or SIP.--It may not make too much difference to your response.
Good luck
Tayla
