Hello Myrna and Welcome to Neurotalk!!!
I'm not a doctor but your symptoms sound to me very similar to those of Trigeminal Neuralgia. (Trigeminal Neuralgia is an extremely painful inflammation of the largest nerve in the skull(trigeminal nerve).)
Trigeminal Neuralgia Symptoms
- Very painful, sharp electric-like spasms last a few seconds to minutes
- Pain is triggered by touch or sounds
- Pain during chewing, eating, drinking, shaving, or brushing teeth
We do have a Trigeminal Neuralgia Forum you may want to check out:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum26.html
I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. Pain sucks! But you have found a great place to come to. You will find a WONDERFUL group of people here who are caring, compassionate, helpful, friendly, etc...
Please feel free to roam around and join in anywhere!!!!
I look forward to seeing you around the boards!!!
Abbie
