I have a friend that had two back surgeries and then had the SCS put in. It made his pain worse. He had it in for about a year and had it taken out. He is back to work now but he does take pain meds.

There are a lot of meds out there that you might read up on here on the different forums. Go to the RSD forum and you can ask about the SCS or read what others have written about it here. You can also learn about different meds you might try there. I'm on Methadone for pain and I like it but a lot of people don't but there are so many other meds as I said.
