My hair stylist said it was because the grey was a different texture and didn't hold the color as well. I wanted to go lighter but she said it would turn brassy on my dark hair. I kept going to her for years until she moved her salon.

I got a new hair stylist 7 years ago. I am now blonde with brown highlights and have a new hair style that is so easy to take care of. I started out with just a few blonde highlights to hide the grey and got finally got the nerve to make the change. I love getting my hair done, it's one of my favorite things.

The guy who colors my hair for me had a lot of problems getting the color to work on my hair. Last time I got it colored, he used a different formulation and I guess, a stronger peroxide on my hair to get it the nice dark brown that I would normally have.

It worked, and my hair has stayed a darker color for a longer time. Usually it would start showing after just a month, but it's been almost two months and so far it's holding up pretty well.
