Sooo sorry about your fall. It sounds awfully painful, but considering, you probably got off really lucky.

As for the toe, I have also broken many toes. Too many times to count. But I've always broken the smaller ones. And now I'm the say way, wrap a couple toes together...and voila! Six weeks later your toes is all better...even if it does now have a strange bump on it :-)

I do know from breaking my elbow, that breaks in/around joints can be bad because as the bones grows back together you get outgrowths of bone that can (depending on where they are located) inhibit joint mobility.

Now that might not be as important in a big toe as an elbow, but something that should be considered. As your big toe is so important for balance. Your doctor might be the only person that would be able to tell if it would be a problem.

Just something to consider...
