JRC - hi - Nide is right - I'd see a neuro if possible right away - if there is numbness in your feet - even without pain - it could be neruopathy.... at this point primarily sensory which doesnt cause much pain at first anyway - but loss of balance and just a constant annoying numb feeling (mine started out like this - numb hands and feet and falling over) - and then progressed from there - a neurologist was able to do nerve conduction studies and immediately could see damage to the nerves that explained the symtoms.....

Be careful - falling is not a good thing...
