I don't imagine it works on every type of pain, but it did (for me) on the sciatica (which is generally due to referred pain from the lower back).

I talked to my PT about this just an hour ago. He said that it's similar to self medication, or Pain Medication. That it releases the endorphines and masks the problem. He said he prefer's to address the symptoms and try to repair the problem, rather than mask the problem. He also said that to him, it's more of a last resort, after all other things have been tried, INCLUDING back surgery. My take is that I agree with him. I don't want to mask pain, I want it to go away and have normal life back.
