Default Balloon Compression Surgery next week

Hi - I've been lurking here for quite some time. My current bout of TN has lasted for almost one year now - than God for carbamazapene. I don't know what I would have done with out it!

My time has come for surgery and I've chosen the balloon compression. My day surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday. I know to expect some numbness. But, how will I feel after I wake up from the one-hour surgery?

Will my face be sore? Once the aenesthetic (sp?) has worn off, will it hurt?

I realize that everyone reacts differently, but I was wondering who has gone through this type of surgery. My alternative is the MVD surgery - I will go for that if the balloon compression isn't successful.

For anyone who has had the balloon compression, did you experience permanent numbness? Did the pain come back?

Thanks to all!

Regards,
Judy
