They would never, ever approve Provigil. They do whatever they can to not approve things hoping that you will just go away. I have found that all of my docs pretty much hate dealing with them.

I found you have to have a forceful doctor who can bully them into getting what you need quickly. They don't care about you calling, but a doc writing letters gets action.

Luckily, we decided to switch insurance here a couple years back and went with Highmark. Life is so much easier.

It sounds like taking your mom to the ER was God's way of putting her where she needed to be. I'm so glad she ended up with a better oncologist. I pray that she responds well to the chemo and radiation. Is her doc with UPMC's cancer institute? They took good care of my FIL a few years back.

The best thing I can say about cancer is that treatment really is so much better now.
Hi Holly!

I have heard from others that Health Assurance is a nightmare too. Her new oncologist is with UPMC's cancer institute. He is much more proactive than her previous doctor.

It was definitely a great thing that she got to the hospital when she did. She is in so much pain and was trying not to let us know. That's how mom's can be .
