aI'm late to this thread, but we had a waterbed for at least 25 years. It was the old fashioned kind without the waffling - just one large bladder. I loved it. Of course you have to have a heater or you don't know what cold is!!

My husband's back isn't too good, so we decided to buy a regular (very good) mattress. It is too high for me, which is very painful now, and it isn't warm, but let me tell you , delivering 4 of my kids on waterbeds is not the most wonderful experience. Those waves will kill you!
