If you're worthless then this aught to qualify me for your "club"...
I turned on the stovetop to heat up water, about 2 years ago. I went upstairs to check emails. Kids were downstairs.
I came downstairs a bit later to find the whole downstairs filled with smoke!! A horrible smell. I had turned on the burner that the wooden cutting board was on!! It was charred pretty well. I was lucky the whole house hadn't caught ablaze. I had to open windows, turn on fans... it wasn't a pretty picture. I threw out the cutting board. The kicker is that we are living with my mom and her husband (we as in me and my 3 kids) and the took the stinky board out of the trash in the garage and asked "what happened?" How embarassing!! (After I got over the total fear.)
