I took it for a year and I am still here. Yes there are side effects of MTX. I already answered your post in the MS forum.

A very close friend of mine is on MTX for Rheumatoid Arthritis and has been since she was 15. She is now 30. She is doing well. I believe for every success story there is a failure. It is a tough decision. No kidding about it. It's a very strong drug.
