It's really sad that I cant talk to anyone under the age of 30 without having to have a translator next to me. (I'm going to be 39 in may)
I can sort of understand stuff when I see Text-ese on the internet, but if someone is speaking it to me, I just want to smack them.
It's easier for me to talk to someone speaking Spanish (which I only know a few phrases in) than talk to someone speaking Text-ese.
I only know two languages. English and American Sign Language (and I'm starting to forget the ASL)
I dont mind if someone is speaking a foreign language so much, even tho I think everyone here should at least understand English, but I cant stand it that there are people out there who insist on actually verbally speaking in Text-ese.
I can actually remember when there wasnt an internet, but just local bulletin boards. We typed out in the same Text-ese that's used today (heck, my generation probably created today's Text-ese...and I'm sorry about that)
We didnt continue to speak in Text-ese when we left our computers to go meet up in the Real World (otherwise known as the pizza restaurant downtown where we all met once a month)
