hiya all!
yo, Finny, Sarah, Greta, Sandy, Barb, NaeNae, Anne, TK, Vonn, and all the great folks here in Insights.
I'm just cruisin' along... makin' the best of my day.
I was supposed to go to the capitol for my VISA renewal today, but...
woke up at 3 am with hideous ZINGER cramps in my right foot.
I couldn't go back to sleep, and when it was time to leave at 7 am, I said "Let's do it tomorrow, honey? I just
can't today."
then, I did my chores, and went back to bed.
when I woke up in the afternoon, I was drenched and sticky (hot flashes), so I took a cool shower, and then...
I got the scissors and WHACKED off my hair.
now I have a "little boy haircut" lol, almost a butch!
but I feel a lot cooler, and my head feels lighter.
it's only 8:30 pm, but I'm gonna hit the sack, and hope all goes well tomorrow.
it's a big day, waiting in long lines (I bring a tiny folding camp stool) and I also have to go to the US Embassy, to register for an overseas absentee ballot for the upcoming presidential election.
plus, I have to make arrangements for the DIRECT DEPOSIT of my SSDI to a foreign country, and that has to be done through the embassy also.
that couldn't be done until I got my permanent residency status...
at LEAST the embassy building has air conditioning.
but... going there feels CREEPY... it's like, a FORTRESS, within a walled compound.
last time I was there, a few months ago (to get extra pages for my passport - it was totally filled with monthly visitor VISA stamps) and GUESS what?
they CONFISCATED my little collapsible umbrella at the entrance.
and I'm all: "WHAT? You think it's some kind of umbrella of mass destruction?"
"Do I look like James Bond?"
