You should be eligible for Medicaid. Perhaps you were denied because you didn't submit all the required documentation. Medicaid is a resource and income based program. There are no work requirements. Please try again and bring your birth certificate, drivers license, proof of address-like a utility bill in your name, your most recent bank statement, your last 4 weeks paystubs if employed, or your last years tax return if self employed. If you have no income the social service office will give you a form to be filled out by the person or persons providing you with food and shelter.
