Went to the ER yesterday during the afternoon. Felt like I was having an alleergic reaction again; started coughing, chest tightness, trouble breathing. Took a benadryl and then went. Vitals were fine and told I may have to wait 4 to 5 hours to be seen. Stopped coughing after a half hour and then signed myself out, went home and took another benadryl. Iw as not going to wait that long.
Went to my clinic today, pcp on vacation, and saw a nurse practioner. They gave me a breathing treatment and then she said I had a sinus infection based on my nasal congestion and fluid behind my ears. I do not think I have one. Went to the pharmacy to pick up antibiotics and they told me they may cause an allergic reaction (10% chance-- related to penicillin. I am expremely allergic to it). She also wanted to prescribe an inhaler for me but I said no. I am not wheezing. I feel like they are prescription happy sometimes. Just write a person a prescription and send them on their way. I am happy the pharmacist caught the prescription problem.
Just heard back from the clinic and she said she was aware that it could possibly cause an allergic reaction, but they were running out of options. )And it was not that high of a probability.) I think this means cheaper antibiotics. I told her I was not going to take it, that I was not convinced I had a sinus infection (I think I have allergies), and that I would wait for my appt on Thursday with my pcp. The benadryl jsut made my nose really congested.
I think the breathing issues are either related to allergies or ms hug. I already have the hug in my riib cage and back on a daily basis. She had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned it as a possibility. So I have had a frustrating 2 days, but it is beautiful outside.
Sorry for the long rant!
